BFF

Flew home this morning. Flight was leaving at 7.15 and there was a big party in the evening, so I decided to just stay awake and go directly to the airport. I managed to get some sleep in the plane, but have - to no surprise - had the worst headache today. Alcohol, no sleep, time differences and flying, you just can't go wrong with that combination! Very nice to come home to the good summer weather here. Wanted badly to go out and enjoy the sun a little, but have just been lying on the sofa all day, trying to stay alive.

Last night was awesome. Kári will be leaving for California for 9 months from September, so it was the last time I would see him in almost a year. In that occasion, we wore matching BFF (Best Friends Forever) sunglasses all night. We looked so awesome.

I have had two really cool weeks in Iceland. Great training and so many cool things to see and do. As always, wherever I visit SBG gyms around the globe, people are always super nice, friendly and cool. Never fails, and Iceland was no exception. Thanks much to everyone up there for a great time, especially Árni for arranging everything, Kári for being my BFF and everyone from Mjölnir+friends. I will miss everybody there, but chances are I will be back one day :)

The Blue Lagoon

Went with Árni and Kári to The Blue Lagoon today and relaxed in the warm (/HOT) water for a couple of hours. Weather was nice and I enjoyed it much. Yet another good place in Iceland for Kung Fu poses! (it should've been invented here instead of in China)

The end of days?

We were going to the gym and just as we stepped out of the car I noticed this very strange formation of the clouds. My kingdom for my wide angle lens at that point, as it was the first time I only brought one lens with me to the gym (a fixed 50mm). I got a few shots though but I really wanted one where you could see how the entire sky was covered with these formations. I have absolutely no idea what have caused this, but it looked really, really strange, I have never seen anything like it before?

Climbed a mountain!

Yesterday, Me and Kári climbed the Esjan mountain (the one on the opposite side of the water from the city). It was pretty tough to get to the top, took about 1½ hour all the way up and our legs are pretty sore today :) It was a very cool trip and a beautiful view from the top, which was 780 meters above sea level. No need to bring water as we could just drink from the extremely clear springs running down the mountain.

After the trip we went to the movies and saw the premiere of the new Superman Returns. Awesome film :)

Teaching at the Mjölnir gym

Teaching has been great. A good amount of people show up everyday, people are very eager to learn and they catch things really quick. Lot of good guys here who will be killers in a few years. Tonight I did a class on guard retention and there was around 28 people on the mat. Árni took a few pictures of it, so I could prove that I have actually been doing more than just being a tourist here :)

The Penis Mall

Smáralind is one of the two big shopping malls here. How on earth could the architects not see what it would resemble from the air??

I have found a whale watching tour that I want to go on. Leaving 3 times a day every day it should be possible for me to find a good time to go with ok weather before I leave. Hopefully, me and Kári will walk up a mountain tomorrow, but it is depending on the weather and wether we can find a car to get there or not.

Oh also, I just discovered that I had accidentally switched off acommenting for unregistered user on blogger.com. It should be on now, so comment all you want :)
